Home Bound Study:
The curriculum is provided in the same manner as for the on-campus program. Students advance at their own pace. They are not pushed ahead, nor are they “held back” by a teacher and other students in their class. Therefore, the student can advance at a pace suitable for them.
The minimum required to be able to complete the school year from August thru May each year is two PACE tests per week turned in. The student is not bound, however, by this minimum requirement! We have seen students complete two years of work in one school year! Parents of home study students are required by the state of South Carolina to have either a GED or a high school diploma in order to teach their child at home.
Parents are required to keep a log of hour of home study. Piedmont Christian Academy recommends 4–5 hours, 5 days a week of study time. Biblically Based Program:
Godly character training is part of the A.C.E. learning experience, and it prepares students to welcome and accept challenges and future opportunities. Sixty character traits, such as kindness, loyalty, and honesty, are taught within the curriculum. Students can observe character development in the true-to-life character strips and then apply the Godly character lessons to their own lives. Scriptural Foundation Challenging and highly effective, the A.C.E. program is an extraordinary educational approach, Biblical in its core, that prepares students for tomorrow’s world while giving them traditional moral values that will last a lifetime. The curriculum conveys Biblical values and concepts considered foundational to meaningful interpersonal relationships and productive learning in such a way as to becomelife-shaping influences. We will also be able to answer any questions you may have regarding the program and the process.
